Nobody can guess this body part. Hint: it's not the knee. A blurred crop of Steph's Silva art and a gold question mark, for The First Stone newsletter.

So… not to brag or anything, but last Monday we hit our all-time viewership record on the stream.

It was five people. Including Steph.

And we loved having every single one of them there. Also, they got sneak peeks, secrets, and more.

Okay, let’s get to it. Here’s what you missed, and what’s coming in the fantasy dystopian world of Exousia.

In this dispatch:

  • I made something that kills Mythic powers. Forever. Am I a monster?
  • Nobody can guess this body part. Can you?
  • A senator in California wants to force Ignarus Myths to hand over their blood.
  • You’re all secretly wizards, aren’t you?

From the Workshop

A small glass vial of glowing blue Pax Serum resting in an open palm.

I made 50 Pax Serums by hand

Should I feel guilty?

In The First Stone, the Pax Serum is a slender vial of glowing blue liquid that erases Mythic powers forever.

So naturally, I decided, for some morbid reason, that they would make the most wonderful little collectibles. I then proceeded to learn how to mix and pour resin.

Robert in a mask and gloves pouring resin, with rows of tiny vials standing in foam on the table.

Steph says it took two hours. I say three. Downplaying my sacrifices, I see.

Regardless of how long the pouring took, and the pain my back suffered (worth it for you all), I have successfully made 50 of them!

How can you get one of these little vials of destruction? Well, before I answer that, let me just say… look at you. Wanting the Pax too. I’m glad I’m not the only one.

Okay, anyway, these will be in our future mystery boxes. Those live on the stream actually helped decide what will be in them, including a limited edition trading card of a special character (more on him below).

Expect a mystery box game sometime in the future…

Robert smiling and pointing at the blue Pax Serum vial necklace he wears.

I wear this every day now, and people have LOVED it.

Guess the body part

A different one from the livestream

On the stream, we showed a small cropped part of an artwork piece Steph is working on. Guesses ranged from his elbow to his arm. Who knew Platinum Silva, the Champion Arc Breaker, had such an ambiguous left knee?

With a brand new spot, it’s your turn to guess. Which part of his body is this?

A tiny crop of Steph's Silva art: a curve of skin outlined in brown. Which body part is it?

Reply with your guess, or just “Silva”, and I’ll send you a sneak peek of Steph’s Platinum Silva artwork before anyone else sees it. Right or wrong.

Trust me, this one is INSANELY good. You do not want to miss it.

From the Press

Should Ignarus myths be forced to donate blood?

It can save lives in ways medicine can’t.

From last week’s in-world article:

National Chronicle reader poll: Should Ignarus myths be forced to donate their blood? Yes or no.

You still have time to cast your vote in Discord and read the full article here.

Steph doesn’t agree with the bill, but she said that, like the Purge, she could “very plausibly see it happening.” She also thinks Ignarus blood would be worth a lot on the black market (I wonder why that came to mind for her… suspicious?)

Monday’s Article

20 YEARS LATER: IS THE WORLD BETTER OFF WITH MYTHS?

Twenty years after a boy’s birthday party ended in a tornado, the world still can’t agree whether Myths were a gift or a warning.

I’m reading it live on stream Monday at 8pm CST. Join live on YouTube (subscribe and turn on notifications so you don’t miss it).

You’re all secretly wizards, aren’t you? 🧙‍♂️

Don’t you try to Apparate out of this.

In our new 60-second quiz (updated last night), using only the books and shows you love, to find out if The First Stone is a great fit for you, Harry Potter was the MOST picked, followed closely by The Hunger Games and The Lord of the Rings. Avatar tied for fourth.

Have you taken it?

Alright, that’s it. See you Monday at 8pm CST, tea in hand.

~Robert

The First Stone is out now for pre-order, releasing in January. Cass’s little sister is going to die. He’ll burn the world down to save her.
